Many of our investigations involve the judicial system, civil and criminal, which requires us to have or obtain the social security number of a particular person. We conduct pre-employment screenings for businesses which requires a social security number to assist us in identifying a persons legal status in the United States (illegal immigration issues). The social sucurity number is a positive method of identifying a person involved in an investigation where multiple persons having the same name and DOB are involved. Legal entities licensed by a particular state through the Department of Criminal Justice to do business should have every right to access social security numbers. Private Security is the first line of defense against crime in this country including assisting our citizens with identity theft which is the main purpose of proposed bills in congress.
